HOW-TO TIPS
Getting Started
- Register with your provincial 4-H council to determine your collection area and drop-off point and for collection point contact information.
- Ensure adults are available to oversee the collection of the containers.
Prior to the drop off date, please ensure that the following have been completed:
- Containers are to be completely empty of the product, let the liquid evaporate, outside.
- After the containers are completely empty you can return the containers with the cap off.
- Rinse the outside of the containers to remove excess dirt and material.
- Leave the labels on the containers for product verification.
- Prior to the drop off day collect the container and ensure that producers are aware of where they can deliver their containers.
Note: Share these handling guidelines with area producers to ensure containers are clean and dry for your collection.
Delivering Containers
- Container collection should be completed prior to the common collection day.
- Deliver the containers to the designated collection depots.
Refunds
- Merial Canada will issue $2 for 2.5 litre, $3 for 5 litre and $12.50 for 20 litre containers.
- Encourage producers to donate their refund to your club activities
